Pulling up your testicles: painful or uncomfortable?

3 min read

When used correctly, the Andro-Switch is painless and usually only causes mild discomfort during initial application.

If you experience pain or persistent discomfort while using it, stop immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. You can also reach out to the Thoreme user community for guidance.

Possible causes of discomfort:

  • Application technique
  • testicular ascent
  • Incorrect ring size

Correct installation: #

Place the ring on the base of the penis, close to the pubic area.
Gently pull all scrotal skin (without the testicles) through the ring. The testicles will naturally rise into the pubic pouch (inguinal canal) due to limited space.
Ensure the ring is in contact with the pubis (above the penis) and the perineum (below, between the scrotum and anus).

This elevated position of the testicles is not unusual—it often happens when crossing your legs or wearing tight clothing.

Some initial discomfort may occur due to limited space, especially if the testicles are large or the pouch is small. In most cases, the discomfort resolves within a day or two.

The testicular rise #

You may be familiar with this testicle position. You've certainly experienced
having your testicles naturally raised when crossing your legs, or when wearing tight clothing. Further still, an infant's testicles are in an elevated position in the inguinal pouch until birth. While testicular rearing in adulthood remains rare, the inguinal pouch is designed to accommodate the testicles from time to time.

Occasionally, the testicles may be uncomfortable to move upwards, mainly due to lack of space. This may be due to the testicles being too large or the inguinal pouch too small. In most cases, the testicles find their place within a day or two, and the uncomfortable sensation disappears. If the sensation persists, stop wearing the Andro-switch and talk to your doctor or our team of expert users by writing to Thoreme.
