How can I find a doctor to accompany me?

1 min read

In terms of medical protocol , it is not necessary to go through an andrologist, gynecologist or urologist as a first-line treatment, without any associated pathology requiring specialist advice.

Here's how to find the medical joint:

  1. Read the patient information form
  2. Make an appointment with your GP. Bring the form mentioned above and the protocol present in the Andro-switch pack, as well as the ring or your testicular raising tool if you've already purchased one. Simply explain what you're doing, and he should generally agree to follow your lead. If he refuses, or asks you to see a specialist for whatever reason, follow these steps:
    1. Contact your local Planned Parenthood and ask them if they can provide your first consultation and/or recommend a GP.
    2. Contact a doctor on the Gyn&co website's participative list or on the map of doctors trained and/or informed in natural contraception, taken from the "j'arrête la pilule"by Sabrina Debusquat.
  3. Contact our expert users by e-mail at Thoreme or the ARDECOM association.

Warning:

Bear in mind that a doctor's code of ethics sets out his or her freedom of conscience, which cannot be called into question. This, for example, is one of the levers that enabled abortion to be legalized in France. According to article L2212-8 of the French Public Health Code, "a doctor is never obliged to perform an abortion", nor is any midwife, nurse or medical auxiliary required to assist" in this medical act.

In other words, he can't be forced to follow you in your thermal practice, for example, but you can ask another doctor to accompany you easily.

There are currently 2 training courses for the medical profession:

  • Annual CPD training for medical staff on male contraception organized by SALF (Société d'Andrologie de Langue Française)
  • Training "Male contraception: existing methods and those under development - 1 half day" by the Collège de Médecine Générale MGFORM

Let's work together to improve our medical care:

On this page page of the Gyn&co website, you can add the doctors who have agreed to follow you with thermal, hormonal or vasectomy contraception. This will help future contraceptors in their efforts.
