How often should spermograms be performed?

< 1 min read

The results obtained with each analysis reflect spermatogenesis over the last 3 months. It is therefore essential to perform them regularly, within this timeframe.

After an initial pre-contraception spermogram, a second spermogram at 3 months will ensure that you have indeed passed below the contraceptive threshold of 1 million.

For the next six months, the testicular thermal contraception protocol developed by Drs Mieusset and Soufir recommends monthly spermograms.

Spermogram results can be used to communicate with your partner(s) and reassure them if necessary.

After six months, a spermogram every 2-3 months is required to monitor contraception.
