Health police - Andro-switch sale suspended

1 min read

To make things clearer for you, here's the latest news from Andro-switch.

Following the health police decision handed down on December 10 by the Agence Nationale de Sécurité du Médicament et des Produits de Santé (ANSM), the ANSM has given us a new 48-hour ultimatum to suspend the sale, distribution and advertising of the Andro-switch while we obtain the CE mark to be recognized as a contraceptive medical device.

Please note that we will do our utmost to provide you with more information from January 31 onwards.

In order to comply with this decision, Thoreme is suspending the sale, distribution, promotion and provision of Andro-switch free of charge. As of today, the Thoreme.com site is exclusively an information site on testicular contraception methods. The store is now closed, and its name has been changed to "Buy".

The decision by the health authorities is justified by the fact that the Andro-switch is still sold without CE marking, a compulsory certification to market a product in European Union countries. This certification protects users and producers by guaranteeing quality standards.

We are doing our utmost to comply with European regulations as quickly as possible, in order to meet CE certification requirements and ensure that Andro-switch will eventually be available to everyone. If you already own an Andro-switch, we remind you that wearing the ring involves your individual responsibility. Nevertheless, rest assured that the user community will always be at your disposal by e-mail to continue to support you and answer your questions as part of exchanges of practice between users.

The Andro-switch and the medical protocol for thermal contraception are part of 50 years of research by doctors and activists. We are committed, more than ever, to continuing this research.

Today, we take note of a decision that confirms the weak commitment of public authorities and donors to support this cause. We will continue our action until contraception is a shared responsibility for all.
